Herdwick Cottages is delighted to support the Great North Air Ambulance Service as our 2024 Charity.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) brings pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients annually.
Many are surprised to hear that GNAAS is not NHS-funded; instead, the charity relies on donations from the public through fundraising events and collections.
Lancaster, Carlisle, Newcastle, and Manchester are the nearest hospitals to the Lake District that treat serious injuries. When time-critical care is required, the Great North Air Ambulance is vital!
Living in the area, we see how frequently the Air Ambulance is airborne, flying overhead, so for us who live locally, walkers and visitors to the Lake District, it’s a valuable service to have and, of course, help to fund.
We are asking guests who book with us to make a voluntary donation, which they can do during the booking process. For every £ donated, we will match it and add it to the total charity pot.
We believe in the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the lifesaving service they provide daily.
Please visit their website for more information about GNAAS or to donate directly.
