Neaum Crag is a beautiful woodland estate that comprises privately owned lodges placed on terraced levels. Squirrels, deer and birdlife are abundant.
Dock Tarn Lodge and Styhead Tarn Lodge are ideal as a base to explore the Great Langdale Valley that stretches from Ambleside through Clappersgate, Skelwith Bridge, Elterwater, Chapel Stile, to the Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, and the glaciated valley of Mickleden. The Langdale Valley is hugely popular as a walking destination, including the Langdale Pikes.
Coniston and Coniston Water are 7 miles west of the Estate, which you can reach easily by bus, car or perhaps walk with a selection of off-road tracks.
The bustling village of Ambleside is just 2.5 miles away. You will find a great choice of bars, restaurants and shops, or perhaps hop on board one of the Windermere Cruise Boats and sail to Brockhole, Windermere or Lakeside for the Lakeside Aquarium. The 505 bus service is useful, or call a taxi if you don’t fancy walking or driving.
There is much to see and do locally to make Neaum Crag Estate an excellent option for your next holiday in the Lake District.
