The Bowels of Fleetwith Fell Race
This unique fell race combines mountain running with an underground adventure. Starting at Honister Slate Mine, competitors will race uphill before navigating 1km of old mine tunnels, usually off-limits to the public. The route then ascends Fleetwith Pike (648m) and Grey Knotts (697m) before a final descent back to Honister.
The race is open to ages 16 and over, with under-18s requiring an accompanying adult. Covering 6km with 1500m of ascent, it starts at 10 am, with check-in from 8:30 am.

Classic Drive and Ride-In Day
Join Lakeland Motor Museum for their Classic Drive and Ride-In Day on Saturday 3rd May and Saturday 4th October 2025 – a great day out for car lovers.
See a fantastic display of classic cars, motorbikes, and sports cars outside the museum, with no booking needed to take part. Owners can bring their own classic vehicles to show off, while visitors can enjoy the cars, grab a bite at Café Ambio, or explore the museum’s collection.
