Number 7 Low Glenridding, is a lovely stonebuilt mid-terrace property situated in the pretty village of Glenridding at the southern tip of Ullswater, surrounded by majestic fells and a plethora of walks and just a short stroll from the shops and pubs.

With private off-street parking, a pretty enclosed garden and comfy accommodation, 7 Low Glenridding is a perfect choice for a family holiday or perhaps a walking holiday with friends.

From the doorstep of the property, you can embark on wonderful hikes in all directions, taking in the height of the Helvyllen Range or Place Fell or perhaps following the low-level lakeshore path that hugs the eastern shore of Ullswater all the way to Pooly Bridge. Nearby Aira Force waterfalls (3 mi) are a must-see, especially on warmer days when the shade of the trees and cool water make for a chilled-out walk.

The house spans two floors: on the ground floor is the well-equipped kitchen with a dining table, and the living room with comfy sofa seating and a fabulous open coal fire. Upstairs are the two lovely bedrooms, a double and a twin, and the bathroom has a bathtub and shower.

Outside, you have a small courtyard to the front with an outhouse, and the rear is the pretty garden with garden furniture and established shrubbery - a lovely space to relax after a day out exploring the Lakes.

  • Rear Garden - Established shrubbery and a pretty stone path to the patio area with garden furniture.

First Floor (11 carpeted steps with handrail)
  • Bedroom 1 - Two single beds with bedside tables, dressing table and storage. Double-glazed sash window overlooking the rear garden and onto the fells.
  • Bedroom 2 - Double bed with bedside tables and a wardrobe. Double-glazed sash window overlooking the front courtyard and street and onto the fells.
  • Bathroom - Bath with an electric shower over, basin with shaver point and light, toilet, and heated towel rail.
  • One well-behaved dog is welcome free of charge. Please note - We request pets are not allowed on the furniture / beds.
  • Bed linen, towels, services, wifi, coal for the fire, and a starter supply of guest consumables are included in the rental.
  • Off-street private parking for up to two cars.

Glenridding is a charming village nestled at the southern tip of Ullswater, the second-largest lake in the Lake District National Park. Surrounded by majestic mountains and with the lake sparkling at its doorstep, Glenridding is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and anyone seeking a picturesque escape. The village is steeped in history, most noted for lead mining, with remnants of its industrial heritage still visible today.   • Helvellyn Country Kitchen and Fellbites Cafe both offer light bites and fuller lunch dishes, and Helvellyn Country Kitchen hosts the occasional evening pop-up restaurant. Both are great options for a pre- or post-walk feed!

  • Glenridding has two convenience stores; the Glenridding Gallery, and Catsytcam outdoor shop.
  • For larger shops, the closest supermarkets are in Penrith, a scenic 14-mile drive from the cottage. Home shopping deliveries are available from most major supermarkets.

  • Ullswater Lake Cruises: Sail from Glenridding to Howtown on the eastern shore or Pooley Bridge at the northern tip of Ullswater.
  • By Road: Junction 40 of the M6 (Penrith) - 14 miles. Keswick is about 30 minutes by car. Windermere is about 20 minutes by car.
  • By Train: Nearest Stations at Penrith and Windermere
  • By Bus: Regular bus service to Glenridding from Penrith (all year) and Windermere (summer only).
