Badger Close

Kendal
Sleeps 4
Bedrooms 2
Dog Friendly

Nestled in the heart of the bustling old market town of Kendal, with the Lake District National Park on your doorstep, Badger Close is one of several old weavers' cottages dating back to the 1820s that still retain the communal washing lines used historically for drying fabric and has lovely views towards the River Kent, St George's Church and Gooseholme Park

Badger Close is conveniently located to stroll into Kendal town centre, where you will find a great choice of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and traditional pubs. Kendal is well known for its lively arts scene (check out the Brewery Arts Centre) and events such as the Mountain Festival and the annual Kendal Whisky festival. Reaching the cottage is easy without transport - Kendal train station is a 5-minute walk away, which connects to the West Coast Mainline between London Euston and Glasgow. Kendal Bus Station is also a 5 minute walk away, with hourly services into the central Lakes, including Windermere and Ambleside.

Inside, the open-plan living room offers plenty of sumptuous seating to help you relax and unwind into the evening; gather at the dining table to enjoy a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal or takeaway with your loved ones. You'll be cosy thanks to both the 'glow' of warmth provided by the Aga or why not light the logburner to create a lovely ambience.

The first floor, accessed by carpeted stairs with a handrail, is spacious and has a bedroom with twin beds that can be configured as a super king-size zip-and-link bed (with mattress topper) on request. There is also a good-sized family shower room with walk-in shower and deluxe fixtures and fittings. The second floor has a beautifully furnished king-size double bedroom with delightful views.

March 2025 - Please Note: The Environment Agency is currently working on the flood defences along the river Kent and on Gooseholme Park. This has reduced the amount of street parking available. Whilst it is usually possible to park on the street close by, additional parking is available at the Kendal Snowsports Club, approx 5-minute walk, for £1.30* per day. (*Correct at March 2025)
