Lyth Valley View at Broom Bank is a newly refurbished annexe with a private entrance and patio/garden area overlooking the picturesque Lyth Valley and Morecambe Bay. It's a fabulous gem for a romantic getaway in beautiful surroundings.

This eco-friendly Brigsteer self-catering cottage is adjoined to the Owners property, yet it benefits from a private and secluded patio area with views of the Lyth Valley. It comprises a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen, dining area & a living area with a log burner and a large glass sliding door that overlooks the slate-paved patio and the valley. Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom and a large bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub.

The village of Brigsteer is ideally placed to provide a central base from which to explore the Lake District. Brigsteer is popular with cyclists, so if you enjoy cycling, you will enjoy the vast network of quiet country lanes. Just a short walk from the cottage is the Wheatsheaf Pub, with indoor and outdoor seating. Well-known for its excellent food and great service, you'll be spoilt for choice should you decide to eat out locally. The market town of Kendal is just 3 miles from where you will find supermarkets and plenty of shops, cafes and bars. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday.

Lake Windermere and Bowness are 9 miles away, where you can hop onboard one of the Cruise Boats that link you to Lakeside, the Lakes Aquarium, and the Haverthwaite Railway, or Ambleside at the north end of Lake Windermere.

Upstairs: (accessed by carpeted stairs with handrail)
  • Double bedroom with bedside tables, wardrobe space and drawers. A large window provides lots of natural light.
  • Bathroom with a slate walk-in shower, freestanding rolltop bath, loo, basin and a wall-mounted heated towel rail.
  • One well-behaved dog is welcome to stay at an extra charge of £20.00
  • An eco-friendly ground-source heat pump provides heating and hot water.
  • Off-street parking is available + storage for bicycles.
  • Due to the property's layout, it is unlikely to be suitable for children or infants.
  • Bed linen, towels and robes are provided, as is a starter supply of wood and firelighters for the log burner.
  • Complimentary WiFi is available if required.

About the location

Brigsteer is a hamlet between the Parish of Helsington and the village of Levens and about five miles from Kendal in Cumbria. Located on the edge of the Lyth Valley, with Scout Scar overlooking the village, the village amenities include a village hall and a local pub called The Wheatsheaf Inn. There are still three working farms in the village of Brigsteer, with many more developments built since.

Nearby Levens has more amenities, including a general store/newsagent and a pub. The area consists of beautiful stone-built traditional houses, cottages and barn conversions surrounded by unspoilt countryside, varied flora and fauna and a nature reserve providing a beautiful walking country.
