Birch is a shepherd's hut perfect for couples or small families seeking a unique experience in the Lake District. A cut above other similar properties, Birch is ideally situated for easy access into the Lake District and is designed with both comfort and style in mind. The sleeping area is cleverly set-up to give space for both a full-size double sofa bed and bunk beds, and you also have the convenience of a bathroom with shower, and a small kitchenette. Enjoy a barbecue using either the gas barbecue outdoors, or the very special barbecue hut, complete with a real Scandinavian 'Hygge' vibe - fairy lights, reindeer skins and a central fire pit for a fabulous barbecue experience! There is seating dotted around the shared garden area, and also just outside the hut,for al fresco drinks.
Inside Birch, you'll be snug, thanks to the underfloor heating and wool insulation. Although the outdoors is literally on your doorstep, modern facilities are to hand for your comfort. A small kitchenette is handy for creating simple meals or snacks, and there is a fridge to chill that fizz. The sleeping area has a comfortable double bed and bunk beds so you can sleep like a (Birch) log. The neat shower room is just a few steps away, with modern fittings and an electric shower. The painted wood panelling and muted relaxing colour scheme work really well to make you feel at home.
Being just an 30 minute drive from the M6, Birch is in a superb location for exploring the Lake District and the coastal areas surrounding Morecambe Bay. There are almost too many great places to visit in one stay - you may need to keep coming back for more...Windermere lake is a 10 minute drive away, with the high fells of the Lakes a few miles further away. Classic Lake District villages such as Hawkshead and Cartmel are nearby, and there are plenty of activities to try, such as mountain biking, walking trails, Segway, and Go Ape which can all be done in Grizedale Forest. Water sports are available on Windermere and Coniston Water. Woodland, coastal and easy countryside walks are all on your doorstep. Birch is one of three huts on site and use of the garden areas and barbecue hut is shared between guests.
